 Showstar is a rock band. They’ve started playing music ten years ago in a small garage somewhere in Belgium. Their first album, « We are ready » (2003), was highly acclaimed and gave the band a good reason to work hard on their second effort. The less we can say is that they achieved their goal when you listen to «.» (say « Dot ») !
Ten pure pop songs, dark and brilliant, powerfull but sweet, sophisticated but so simple. Guitars and melodies as we love. With the glorious help of their label, Anorak Supersport, Showstar chose to work with the London-based producer Gareth Parton, who worked with the Rakes, the Futureheads, Placebo, the Beta Band, the Polyphonic Spree, the Pipettes, the Go!Team, the Victorian English Gentlemens Club, Neil’s Children, the Killers, Piano Magic, Death In Vegas,…The album was recorded at Polysound Studio (Brussels) and Fortress Studio (London) within 25 days. The mastering was done in Bristol at Optimum Studio by Shawn Joseph who worked with Primal Scream, New Order, Ian Brown, Therapy and Aphex Twin
