Dub Incorporation

DUB INCORPORATION began their musical career in 1997 . Their story proves similar to that of other bands : it is about about a group of friends gathered around a shared passion - music. The musical background and influences of each member of the band are rich and diversified, and this might well be why their music is so original. Even though it is easier to call it “french reggae”, it does not provide with a full scale view of their music, whose influences go from eastern traditional rhythms and melodies to modern hip hop and electro-dub.

Wishing to go professional, they quickly decided to record a cd of their songs. In 1999, Dub Incorporation 1.1 - their first cd - comes out ; this is their first musical record. The band becomes more professional, concerts fly by while their music attracts more and more people from their region (Saint-Etienne). When Version 1.2 is released in June 2001, they take a decisive step forward, which puts an end to their “local band” status. From that day on, DUB INCORPORATION crosses the Rhône-Alpes borders and starts doing live gigs all around France. While their sales keep increasing, the media take hold of it and articles about the band start flourishing in the press.

The next step will be a long play cd. September 2003, DIVERSITE, the band’s first album, comes out and is distributed by Productions Spéciales. Advertisement is made through a number of networks (Férarock for instance, sponsor for the album), while the band is interviewed by radios and fanzines every time they play live.

The band gets more and more famous, concerts are sold out and a lot of cds are sold too, around 10,000 to this day.

Music professionals start to fancy the band. DUB INCORPORATION is awarded during the 2004 edition of FAIR which speeds things up at every level, the band even collaborates with A GAUCHE DE LA LUNE booking agency.

Dans le décor, DUB INC’s second album will very likely be a decisive turn in the band’s career. The cd features some of the best french and international reggae singers : Lyricson, Omar Perry, even David Hinds (Steel Pulse). Moreover, with Sam Clayton working on the album, Dub Incorporation sets a new standard for reggae fans. The band will start touring next autumn and give all the energy they have live to please the public, so be ready to hear about it again soon.
